    We concentrate on offering the public three versions - priority one is to create a steam-friendly plugin version that is to serve as the basis for the Workshop version. However we will be maintaining the use of the old gold version for testing purposes.

    What do we need to do now?

    • Prioritise producing the Afro-Arab and Iberian factions first, to test the simplified unit order.
    • Insert siege machines
    • Check the viability of Age of Darkness' L39 Lahti which is projected to become the base for the oxybeles/scorpio.
    • Use Blender to mint the new oxybeles and scorpio, and any other siege machines -- make sure you do not rotate more than 45deg to avoid distortions.

    Omit: Super7700's convoluted hierarchy of units, instead there will be:

    Barbarian buildings

    Buildings that need reworking:

    • Meeting house
    • Tower
    • Fort (Broch) - done
    • Stable
    • Village
    • Town (dun)
    • Granary

    Celtiberian design:

    Celtiberian and Carthaginian buildings resemble one another, however Carthaginian buildings have a more finished appearance. If Celtic buildings have undressed stone, Celtiberian ones have a sandstone finish, while Carthaginian ones are dressed. Elite Celtiberian ones have a stone base, ie "Galician style".

    • Meeting house -
    • Tower - similar to Celtic, but is covered with sandstone.
    • Fort (Broch) - this is a square tower with a central keep.
    • Stable - uses the Celtic design. Just recycle.
    • Village - no roundhouse, only square.
    • Town (dun) - no rounded podium, the walls are angular as are the buildings.

    LAW AND ORDER

    Your ally, a local tribe, is being harassed by bandit cavalrymen and infantrymen. He only has a number of castles with markets attached to them, and never-ending spawns of caravans. Protect your ally's caravans - the more caravans are lost to the enemy, the more foes you will have to fight. Use your ally's castles to protect your injured units. You will win once you have destroyed a number of enemy units.
    This scenario often plays out in mountainous regions or deserts.

    Working name "Switzerland" You face off against 3 enemies who have banded together.
    As mountains abound, this will be a serious business, as it will impede how armies move in or out of the field.

    "I haven't really thought about the recharge times, but I think the ballista should have a recharge time of 55, since that's what the vanilla catapult has, and the scorpio should have a time less then that, perhaps 45. I guess the battering ram would have the smallest recharge time, but I'm not sure what would be a good value. 35 maybe?"

    I've come up with some random ideas that could potentially be good additions to the mod. What I'm interested to know is what you think about them. Is there anything that you would like to see added, changed or removed?


    • By default, forts and towers do not have an attack and must be garrisoned to attack enemies. Also, an ungarrisoned fort or tower can be captured by enemy spies
    • When a new fort is built a few soldiers will automatically be spawned inside it as a garrison, allowing it to attack enemies. The size of this garrison can be increased by researching the fortification techs at the fort.
    • Towers on the other hand do not automatically have a garrison, so you will need to garrison citizens or soldiers inside for them to attack. The first f…
