What could be more formidable than the famous and stalwart Sacred Band? well, the Sacred Band on four legs instead of two, that's what! and that is what the Sacred Band Cavalry — HaParasim HaB'hurim — do best. You do not even need to look at their stats - just merely looking at the lion pelts either slung over as saddles or as riding helmnets, and you know that these men form the créme de la créme of the Carthaginian cavalry service. They may not be as hard-hitting as the European cavalry, but they are tough men, mounted on good horses — they are after all raised from the patrician classes of Carthage's cities and colonies, and what you see is what you get.
Even so, do not try to risk them against anti-cavalry weapons — that is NOT what they are for, given their lower attack strength in exchange for better armour. Rather, they like most Carthaginian "Punic" and "African" units are best used for defence. Use instead the strengths of your mercenary army to cause damage, whilst using your own natives for defence. For instance, these units are quite resistant, so they should be deployed for defence, be it against cavalry for your light units, or against enemy ranged units to defend your battle line.
